Battlesteads

From ourbedandbreakfasts.com in Northumberland, United_Kingdom

Originally built as a farmstead in 1747, this four-star Inn and Restaurant features a cosy bar with open fire in the winter and a sunny conservatory within a secret walled beer-garden.

The bar has 4 cask-ales including Durham Magus, Wylam Gold Tankard and both Black Sheep Ale and Black Sheep Special and the wine list runs to over 20 varieties.

Taken over in 2005 by Richard and Dee Slade, Battlesteads has quickly gained a
reputation for its character and warm welcome as a friendly, family run hotel.

An ideal base for exploring the border country, Hadrian's Wall, castles and scenery.

Walkers, Ramblers, Cyclists and Motorcyclists are most welcome.

North Tynedale has many walks and routes of varying length and difficulty, we have maps of some of the more popular routes for guests to consult.

Battlesteads can provide packed lunches on request and we have secure storage for cycles.

Cycle hire and luggage pick-up and drop-off service is available – ask for details.
